A Crucified but Risen Christ! by Jay A. Quine

Christ before Pilate, Mihály Munkácsy, 1881Jesus Crucified!!! Matthew 27:22
The Romans kept a firm grip on peace, enforced by the power of the state. Every traitor was tried, and if guilty, nailed to a cross to die. Hanging on the cross, a traitor may continue to rail against Rome, but Rome always won. Pontius Pilate held the record for more crucifixions of any governor. He maintained order. So it was significant that he declared Jesus innocent. But the hardened crowd demanded, “Crucify Him. Crucify Him.” So Jesus would join the thousands so crucified as they nailed his arms and ankles to a cross. And like all others, Jesus died. It looked like Rome won again. This is Dr. Jay Quine, remember the crucifixion of Jesus, and that this time He rose to change Rome and the world forever.
